We ventured off to this restaurant because we love Mediterranean and Arabic style food. Being from New York and of Syrian descent, we have experienced and greatly enjoy all styles of Mediterranean cuisine. Unfortunately this was the wrong choice. While the atmosphere was entertaining, the food was bland, an oxymoron for Arabic cuisine, the service painfully inattentive, and the bathroom were the filthiest I experience since our arrival in Amsterdam. We ordered the humus, grape leaves, and stewed lamb: terrible, terrible, and most terrible. Save your time and money and go someplace else. GooglePlace - June 2017

Good to have dinner since they restrict the menu until 16:00. I love the atmosphere and the building (old church). Fair price and the food is just amazing. Friendly staff. GooglePlace - June 2017

Used to be a cheap and cheerful place, where you could come with friends and eat for a reasonable price but all that has changed. It seems like their popularity has gotten to their heads. Asking 1,50 for 3 slices of bread and 4,90 for 50 grams of hummus... Absolute joke! Not to mention this is the first place in Amsterdam I have been asked to pay for a jug of tap water for the table. Will not be back in a hurry. These guys used to be great but have lost the plot... GooglePlace - May 2017

Big and exceptionally stylish place with lovely modern Middle Eastern and Northern African food; meals and nibbles alike. Beware when you order something with bread, such as the yumtastic feta paprika mousse, as it'll probably be more enough to fill you! Also very suitable for relaxing with some Moroccan style mint tea after shopping in the market. Clean toilets that look just as stylish as the rest of the place, and people are very friendly. Great place for North African / Middle Eastern food. Beautiful place, it's a reformed mosque. If you want authentic ethnic food, this is not the best place to go to, it's adapted to local tastes, a bit commercial. However, this also means that it's an easy choice to invite people to, it's to the taste of most. GooglePlace - April 2017
