Really nice up class Indonesian restaurant, giving a refined touch to the "rijsttafel". GooglePlace - August 2017

If your an average Joe like myself, do not go here it is way too expensive ! Two set menus €60 and €65 we were able to get a la carte and just get a main course which was €24 per person for a small sized meal. The food was lovely and the staff was great but was well overpriced GooglePlace - August 2017

After reading reviews about the Blue Pepper we decided to make a reservation during our stay in Amsterdam. Upon arrival it seems unassuming and the staff were very friendly. You are given a lot of space to dine which we did quite like, but very plain decor and not a particularly good looking place. Firstly, it is a lengthy experience, 3 hrs give or take is required to eat here. The menu is limited to just a few set choices of five courses. We found the food to be mostly average, with a couple of interesting courses .. the highlight being an interesting pre dessert palate freshener, hard to describe but very enjoyable. One does question whether the palate freshener should be the best thing on the menu though. Now for the bad part .. at the end of the meal we found numerous small bugs crawling around on one of our plates. We alerted the server, and he came back with a joke (inappropriately).. went away and said he would take 20 Euros off the 150 Euro bill. I thought this was a very poor gesture given the relatively high price of the restaurant, which is all about the experience. My partner is American(relevant as they always tip) and did leave a small tip as she felt bad for the waiter . and I did not want to make a fuss, as we were trying to enjoy a short getaway. A poor experience, and 3 hrs we can't get back. We were very disappointed. GooglePlace - July 2017

I have eaten in Indonesia (Java, Bali, Flores, Lomboq etc) and many Toko's in the Netherlands, but this experience is completely different and also the taste is not genuine. I will not say it is bad food, but the amount your spending can be 50% less for REAL Indonesian food. GooglePlace - July 2017

Been in NL for three months. This is one of the best spots I've had the pleasure of eating at here in Amsterdam. Presentation is excellent and the food passes with flying colors. GooglePlace - June 2017
