Ate 4-course meal with former-colleague-now-old-friend fellow whom I had not seen in almost 20 years, and Bridges restaurant was perfect for the occasion for several reasons. Exterior and interior are elegant and the place is in Amsterdam not far from central rail station. Valet parked our vehicle because there is no lot. My friend reserved the dinner and it seemed that reservation was either required or highly recommended; we entered at 18:30 Saturday when tables were vacant and left as the place was full of patrons a few hours later. Greet staff and wait staff were super friendly and attractive, and knew all aspects of the menu well, able to answer all questions about the meal ingredients, origin, etc. No tie and jacket required but elegant attire and demeanor are highly recommended, i.e. short sleeves and old sport shoes would probably be inappropriate. Bridges is ideal location for couples dining. I would suggest eating at Bridges with half-full tummy yet empty palette because all dishes we ordered were petite and subtly flavored. Champagne blended with passion fruit was an exotic and tasty introduction to the remainder of a long dining experience. The ambience was never loud and lighting was good throughout the dinner. Elegant and modern Dutch dining not not ideal for a backpacker budget. GooglePlace - June 2017

Service is impeccable. Food absolutely delicious. Try the the prawns with Ras el hanoot ice cream (who would've thought) and the codfish with escargot main meal. Foursquare - April 2017
