Probably the best Indian in Amsterdam. Note that this is not your typical 'western Indian restaurant'. It's actually part of an international chain, and only serves vegetarian food...you are not going to find a Chicken Tikka Masala here! The menus are huge, first few times we came here, I think it took 30 minutes just to choose. The food comes remarkably quickly, and there is not really the concept of starter, main and dessert. Order what you want, eat it, and then order the next course, otherwise it's going to arrive when it's ready with no logical order. The food is all served on stainless steel plates and/or trays (like in prisons from what I've seen on the TV, I don't have personal experience). They have some really nice desserts that are worth checking out. It is licensed with some beer and I think wine choices (I"m not a wine person). It can get busy, but they are efficient with the waiting list, and getting tables rotated for the next customer, although I have to say that I have never felt rushed while seated and am eating. Judging by the clientele and the comments from some of my Indian colleagues, the food is authentic. Never had a bad meal here.

Great vegetarian Indian cuisine for a very fair price. Authentic flavours. We had a vegan thali and it was more than enough food. Jasmine tea was very nice too. Fast service. The only "but" is that the food is served on metal dishes (which is great!) but goes straight onto a cold marble table (very beautiful table!) so the food got cold really quickly. I'm sure there could be a fix for this but it's not something I've encountered before.
