I have mixed feelings about this place. The meal itself (Chef's Surprise--fish) was quite good (not the best I've had) and the service was also really good. I can't really fault either. The problems came at the end. We ordered two glasses of port to finish the meal. I don't think people order port very often at this restaurant. The port was good, but the serving size was miniscule. Okay, fine. So the bill comes and there's no sign of the port. I'm always honest about these things so I tell the staff. "Oh, thank you for your honesty" the server said. Fine. The bill comes back and they've charged me 19 euros for those two tiny glasses of port. Absolutely ridiculous. So I went to the bar to pay. The young woman with the credit card machine entered the price of the meal around 30 euros (about 100 euros less than the meal really cost). I have no idea where she got that number from. Once again I was honest and corrected her. I also asked her to add a 10 euro tip. She forgot and the bill had to be done yet again. In the end I corrected the bill three separate times--when every one of the mistakes was in my favour. And for my honesty I had to pay 19 euros for the world's smallest glasses of port. Maybe I should rethink the whole honesty thing . . . . . GooglePlace - October 2017

One of the best places we have eaten in Amsterdam. The mullet was perfect as was the red perch and next I will try the steak. The service was friendly, timely and English was excellent. If you have any doubts on which dessert, I recommend the sweet selection. It was a fantastic selection from the chef. Even the espresso and associated treats were suberb. Do try to make reservations or come during off hours. There is a lot of room but I wager it can fill up fast. Strongly recommended. GooglePlace - August 2017
