STARING at JACOB x Ku West is a old west neighbourhood cafe. We are local, international, multicultural. Our concept is simple: healthy brunch all day in a relax & warm atmosphere. We are a cosy hang out for friends & families who want to eat, drink, chill or work. In the evenings Hiro and his crew of Ku Kitchen & Bar take the floor and serve you typical Japanese izakaya food. Think robata grill and fresh fish. Cocktails are served throughout the day !

The place is trying quite hard to be something that is trendy at the moment. Service was a bit too slow for me, bit the food was decent. Need to try their proper brunch options to be "blown "away" GooglePlace - September 2017

We heard great stories from our local and expats friends so we went for a brunch. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. The price and the taste of the food weren't in balance. The food definitely didn't meet up to our expectations. I had sort of a caesar salad with fried chicken. The batter wasn't really crunchy, a bit soft and the chicken a bit dry. KFC does better chicken. My husband had the chicken and waffle and his waffle was a bit dry as well. The coffee was good. But charging a home made ice tea €4,- is a bit nuts. So, nice place to hang out but not to eat. Too bad, as the location is really gezellig. GooglePlace - August 2017

Heard a lot of great stories about this American-style breakfast/brunch place and was delighted to see all the dishes on the menu. Once the food came I was genuinely shocked how small the portions were; they looked more like starters than actual brunch. The presentation is really nice and the food is delicious, but in my opinion this is way overpriced. When going for an American influenced food place, you expect 'American sized' portions as well, especially for a €13,50 plate. Not coming back here unless they either lower the prices or increase the portions. GooglePlace - August 2017

It's not hard or difficult to make a pancake, yet for some reason Starting at Jacob serves a 14 euro plate (as pictured) with the two smallest pancakes I have ever seen. Now this would be OK if everything was really good, except this was more like 9$ good... That being said the bacon was excellent. GooglePlace - July 2017
