The paradise for every seafood-lover, a great place to enjoy richness od sea depths, provided one has the coin stash. From fresh, frozen, thru smoked, cured, to fried or boiled.. you can also pick your own crab or lobster to be prepped. We tried both fish soups, accompanied by the ubiquitous local micro brews - just amazing!

Horrible place. Sells whale meat. Even though there's a global ban. Whales are intelligent sentient beings.

For fresh seafood and shellfish, the Bergen fishmarket is absolutely the place to go. They have crabs as big as me, fresh and smoked fish, and plenty of other things from the sea. The feeling is a little touristy, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t cool things to discover. With a location right along the harbor with the boats right in front, the market really feels connected to the sea.

We chose one of the places in that open fish market, in my opinion more authentic. We ordered Wild Salmon and King Crab, was terrific, absolutely delicious, so taste.
The problem is the price, too high, really expensive. Local people don't go there, is just for tourist. But for once is a great investment to eat this kind of food.

Nice selection of 'fresh' seafood here. It really is somewhat of a tourist attraction than anything else. Of course you get the convenience of picking your desired seafood and having it there and then. Most tourists will want to try the whale meat here, as well as some shellfish. There's also some seasonal fruits available.
