Cafe am Engelbecken is a peaceful oasis in the middle of noisy Kreuzberg, right by the pond Engelbecken. It offers coffee and a cafe style food menu, that can be enjoyed on the lovely terrace with the amazing view of the water, the ducks, swans and turtles inside and the lovely park behind it. It has a cozy space inside for the rainy days, and in the winter the pond freezes and you can do ice skating there! But summer nights on the terrace, with a cocktail and the reflection of the moon in the water, is all we need right now.

Pleasant, quiet and with a beautiful view. Fresh and affordable beer. As a bonus, you're sitting in a place that was literally paved over before 1990, under a Berlin Wall "death strip".

Das Gesitze draußen ist hier fantastisch: Kreuzberg, Schilf, Enten, GESCHICHTE! Personal war bislang eher langsam und wirkte unorganisiert.

the nicest place to sit. unfortunately only semi pro service. the boss himself is very unfriendly, so how to expect the waiters to be pros. the food is ok. more junk food then high cuisine, but could be worse. I'm always sorry to think of what the place could be in the right hands.

I enjoyed a cappuccino on a cold day. It's a pleasant place to look out into the water (or ice), enjoy a coffee, and relax. There's not a big food selection, but for that's not what it's for.
