Santa Maria has been the leader in the best Mexican food since 2010 in the heart of Berlin's Kreuzberg. Using only quality fresh product, handmade salsas and tortillas, we proudly serve the biggest and best burritos in town, the tastiest tacos, house specials, and delicious cocktails. Santa Maria serves Mexican classics such as crispy, tender pork Carnitas tacos (just like in Michoacan); chorizo and beef Campechanos tacos; spicy Tinga de Pollo quesadillas and various seasonal classics like Tostadas de Ceviche. There's a reason why so many Mexicans eat here! Aside from Mexican favourites, Santa Maria is constantly creating innovative new dishes, which quickly become favourites for our regulars. Vegan or vegetarian? Try our spicy marinated grilled aubergine and bell pepper Verduritas tacos or burrito; or our caramelised red onion, chipotle and pumpkin Calabaza burrito and tostadas. Our Ensalada de Pera - a salad with tangy tamarind and chipotle dressing topped with sheep's cheese and caramelised pears - is one of our biggest sellers. Throw in our famous Puerco Especial burrito and our shrimp tacos, and you've got a menu with something for everyone! It's not just our dishes that are innovative. Travellers and locals alike flock to Santa Maria for Taco Tuesdays, a weekly fiesta where we sell tacos and tequilas for just one euro each, which more often than not spills out onto the street well into the night. Definitely the place to be on a Tuesday evening in Berlin. We also have a daily margarita happy hour (Margaritas only 5€ from 8-10pm), weekend happy hour (Fri-Sat 11pm-midnight, cocktails 5€, tequila shots 1,5€) and lunch specials. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food or just a place to sip on a cocktail on one of the most happening streets in Berlin, then look no further than Santa Maria.

Tips from the Net @ Santa Maria

A little over-priced, not very attentive staff. Generally the food quality is good though and the atmosphere generally very social. Sometimes with live music. Overall however not a place I specifically seek out, especially with the plethora of better options in the area. GooglePlace - November 2017

Most bars that serve mostly beer differentiate themselves with ambience. This bar has great ambience. GooglePlace - November 2017

As a Mexican I ate in this restaurant and I can say that is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever eat on Europe. Taste almost similar as Mexico, thanks for the experience. GooglePlace - November 2017

Although the food was good (not if we were in Mexico though), the attention was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. We waited more than an hour for a table until we realized they had written our name wrong. We finally got a table about an hour and a half later and when we order tacos the waitress tells us she doesn't understand anything we're saying and starts upping her tone. We were asking for tacos and nachos. "Nachos?, as in chips?" We point at the nachos the guy next to us is eating. She brings us half the portion he got and no avocado or anything. Not worth the wait or energy. GooglePlace - October 2017

One of the best and biggest burritos I've ever eaten. The restaurant is incredibly popular and overcrowded. The staff do their best to seat everybody and we were crammed six people to a four person table. This didn't really detract from the great time we had there. The drinks were great - and strong. Service was quite slow, as not enough staff were in to cater for the popularity of the place but drinks were on offer so we did not care. Only real negative was the server when we tried to pay became sassy as we wanted to pay separately. GooglePlace - September 2017
