We were lucky enough to get a table for Restaurant Kronborg's Christmas lunch last weekend while we were visiting Copenhagen. As Canadians we had never had a tradition Danish Julefrokost, and it was sensational! All of the dishes were perfect- especially the herring and salmon dishes, and their own special Aquavit, which were highlights. Service was prompt, friendly and warm, and the room is cozy and charming. There was lots of singing, and everyone was having a great time- we ended up talking to the people at the next table, and we left feeling full and very happy. I can't recommend Restaurant Kronborg enough. We felt that all of the food was cooked with love, perfectly executed, and that the overall atmosphere can't be beat. We hope to return to Copenhagen, and Restaurant Kronborg again- they have turned us into Herring fans! GooglePlace - December 2017

Excellent smørrebrød and delicious snaps. We discovered the restaurant while walking around the city. And it's a good thing we did :) The choice of smørrebrød is huge and I wish I could have tried them all. I chose the traditional herring (sild) starter, and roasted pork. This was accompanied by their excellent akvavit which you should definitely try. Our waiter patiently helped us chose and gave great recommendations. The restaurant was quite busy, but still felt very cosy. The prices seemed moderate. Our three smørrebrød, two soft drinks and four akvavit cost us 360DKK. GooglePlace - December 2017

Excellent food and service. A bit too loud and drunken on the tables around us to be top score. Not very family friendly as such. GooglePlace - December 2017

A restaurant serving traditional Danish fare: open-faced sandwiches and the like. It was recommended to me by a Danish friend; I found it a bit pricey -even by Danish standards - but the service was good and the staff friendly. GooglePlace - December 2017

This is a tourist trap. If you don’t care so much, the place is cute. In a side street of the city center you will find this “Danish restaurant” that basically only serves open sandwiches (smørrebrød) for both lunch and dinner. They have the traditional flavors like: herring, chicken salad with bacon, potato, Fish fillet and egg. Sandwiches are regular sized but WAY TO EXPENSIVE for what they are. Around 99kr for each, and they are not amazing. In case you don’t care for a sit down place I recommend you try the ones in Torvehallerne instead, as they are bigger, fresher and much more delicious.
