________________________________________________________________________ Entering Gilda’s bistrot one get the impression of being in an oasis of art nouveau covered with paneling from an old sacristy. The original 1920 counter comes from a Turin Bank; the seats are from an old parish cinema, and the sconces from a Lombardi villa of the same period. The bistrot is also the dining room of Mrs. Bertolini, since Gilda has performed in the remake for the English television of “A room with a view”, as the owner of the Bartolini pension. At Gilda’s you can always find a table with a view of the authentic Florence and its kitchen.

Stumbled across this place and was pleasantly surprised at the extensive list of craft cocktails. Their specialty is Caribbean, but they have a huge variety of other drinks too. And for those designed drivers, some great fresh fruit juice concoctions. It's a small spot with a huge drinks list, table service, and smoking is allowed inside. There are some tables outside for nice summer nights. Menus are in German and English. A little pricey, but the drinks don't disappoint. GooglePlace - December 2016

Handwritten menu was cute but hard to read. Food was pretty good but the staff just watched us eat. Which was pretty uncomfortable. GooglePlace - December 2016

A handwritten menu. We were there only once, so I cannot check if they really change it every day. The place has it's own style, with non-matching glasses that still fit together. Amalfitana, a dessert with ricotta and chocolate, was homemade and really good. GooglePlace - July 2016
