-------------- Caffè Italiano is one of Umberto Montano's business, who started his activity in 1999 to pursue his great passion for Italy's culinary art. At first, he opened Osteria, a traditional Tuscan restaurant in the centre of Florence. Shortly after the restaurant, he created Pizzeria to offer his guests the opportunity to enjoy a real Italian Pizza. Quickly Caffè Italiano became very popular among tourists from all over the world, as well as Italian actors, international artists (the restaurant is near Teatro Verdi) and other food lovers. Caffè Italiano is located in via Isola delle Stinche, in the ancient Palazzo Salviati, an historical palace characterized by its refined elegance and originality. SUD is the last restaurant launched by Umberto Montano. It is a welcoming Bistrot offering a menu focused on Southern Italian food and on Mediterranean Diet principles. SUD is also a Delicatessen, where it is possible to buy genuine traditional products (pasta, cheese, olive oil) and to order takeway meals.

If there are only 3 pizzas on the menu at a pizzeria, you expect them to be amazing, and I wasn't disappointed. We tried all three, and every one was baked to perfection. The crust was soft and burnt just the right amount, and the ingredients, though simple, were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. GooglePlace - September 2017

It's OK. Service was decent, portion size quite generous, starter was bland, main quite good. Very, very meat focused, don't expect fish/veg to appear on the menu. In terms of wine, I had the Brunello and that was alright. Nothing wrong with the place, but you won't have to look far to find better in Florence. If you're passing and you're hungry for fresh meat, head in, just don't make a special journey. GooglePlace - June 2017

Good food but it took 45 minutes between the first course and pasta. Foursquare - May 2017
