I am giving L'Est a 2 out of 5 because we visited there 2 nights in a row. The first night our food was delicious, cooked perfectly and the service excellent. We returned the following night as our first experience was so good. It was our last dinner is France before returning to Canada and we were extremely disappointed. Our starters were terrific but when our dinner arrived the prawns were over cooked and sent back to the kitchen leaving my partner to eat his meal alone as my second plate arrived after he was finished eating. When new second plate came back I ate 2 of the prawns, they were over cooked again. The risotto was ok, slightly under cooked but edible. We felt our server was not attentive particularly because we sent a plate back, he should have checked on me once was I received the replacement. He offered free dessert but was slow to return to ask what we would like. Our wine was empty and we were never offered an additional bottle. We left after we both ate dinner alone. It was the only night in France where we only had 1 bottle of wine. Had this happened our first night there we would never have returned. I was really sad to have wasted my last meal on our trip at L'Est. The server had the opportunity to repair the situation but was too busy with other tables. GooglePlace - October 2017

It's a shame to see such a famous brasserie does not even come close to living up to its reputation. The service was not just poor it was outright rude. The drinks offered as an apperatif came after the entree was served and then we were not offered drinks again for the rest of the meal. The matrede was over filling the restaurant so the staff could not keep up. After asking to order drinks several times a bottle of tap water was loudly banged onto our table and a drink order was still not taken. The result was we did not have wine or water for most of the main course and dessert. No apology was offered. To sum it up our visit was rushed and rude. GooglePlace - August 2017

The food was amazing, the service was fine, they are very nice. The only issue we had was it took them a lot of time to prepare our meal. We spent about two hours there, still it's a must-do! GooglePlace - August 2017

Gorgeous inside restaurant with nice outside terrace and friendly staff. Sadly food is so-so (despite Bocuse brand) and a beer costs €9.60 GooglePlace - July 2017
