Tips from the Net @ RESTAURANT A LA TRABOULE

DO NOT fall into this tourist trap. This was my worst restaurant experience during my stay in Lyon. The place was barely heated, needed to keep my jacket on (I am a 25 year old male and usually don't freeze). The food was basically frozen fish with tomato sauce from the glass. Absolutely disgusting and they had the audacity to charge close to 30 Euros for this "Menu". The "aperitif od the day" that we were lured in the restaurant with was only acceptable because it was free. The service was hideous. It seemed like the waitress was genuinely appalled by the fact that she has to let herself down to the level of serving people food. The result was complete unfriendliness. Even more, upon complaining that a dish that we ordered meat-free had been brought with meat, she literally rolled her eyes at us and started nagging in a nasty tone. There is no accurate rating representation of such a horrific experience (-5 stars). Don't fall into this trap, Lyon has so much better to offer. GooglePlace - December 2017

Picturesque location with charming decor. Unfortunately, appearances deceive. The service was horrendous and the food the worst example of French cuisine I have ever experienced. You can have a better meal standing up at any local boulangerie! GooglePlace - July 2017

This is s wonderful restaurant, our favorite in Lyon, France. Great, friendly staff, excellent food in a quaint, comfortable setting. You get quality, friendliness and great food without the stuffiness of some of the local restaurants! GooglePlace - June 2017

Arrived between meal hours just to get out of a downpour with a group on our first day in Lyon. The atmosphere was slightly dim, but we were well cared for, and the plate I was served was very much to my taste. I heard no complaints from my companions either. I had the green salad with sauteed chicken livers and an excellent balsamic dressing. I tasted the Lyonnais salad made with pork belly and egg, and it too was well made. Not a high-end or pretentious spot, but I don't see the need for all the hate! GooglePlace - May 2017
