Great food. Awesome service. We had a 4 course dinner and our waiter carried around our 5 month old baby during the first 3 courses. :). Don't think this is Hos Thea's normal practise but it's the second time we get something beyond what you normally expect.

This is a very nice restaurant. Food is delicious, the wine is excellent and the staff has a relaxed attitude but still highly professional. The dining room is small, warm and very cozy to sit in, with comfortable chairs and sofas.
I love this place and would gladly come here frequently.
But why not 5 stars? This is an expensive restaurant, and that is fine, but the dishes are so small that you really have to eat a full 3 course meal (at least) to feel full. And even then, there is still room for a slice or a snack on the way home.
I live across the street and would love to just pop in at hos Thea for a good meal and a glass of wine (not cheap but very much worth it) instead of cooking at home, but that is not possible - I will be hungry by the time I cross the street heading home.
This is a restaurant for celebrations and not for the local clientele looking for very good food. Which is sad, a combination should be possible.

This place is amazing. Food is out of this world and staff are great. As tourists, we found Oslo very expensive, but Hos Thea was value for money.
It was our 1st wedding anniversary (unbeknown to the restaurant) and it was totally worth it.

The best venison I have ever eaten. Really professional waiters and the head chef also comes by to say hi to the guests every now and then. Book ahead and spend all night there. It does feel a bit crowded though when it's fully booked. It's part of the charm they are after but to me we sat a bit too close to the other tables.
