Thai Orchid – Thai cafe with good food When some other Thai places in the area of Youngstorget happened to be rather full on a weekend afternoon, I wandered around with my friends until we came across this friendly place ... continue Oslo Spotted by Locals · Blog

One of the best Thai food in Oslo in my opinion. Very tasty and well prepared Foursquare - February 2018

Former Greek taverna turned Thai café, let's say the interior hasn't changed much. One of very few Thai places inn Oslo with authentic flavours and dishes. I'm originally Thai, so probably one of the hardest to please when it comes to Thai food. Look around, often the place is full of Thai people - a good indication of authenticity. Few years ago I would've given 5 stars on taste only, but recently they've performed poorer - making it harder to separate them from hundreds of other Thai spots in town. Perhaps it has gotten too busy for them due to risen popularity. So sad if increased popularity makes the food suffer. Hopefully they will turn this trend soon and continue serving high quality Thai food with authentic taste! Best and most tasty Pad Thai and Pad Ki Mao (Drunken noodles) in town. Try BBQ pork sticks with sticky rice and spicy chili sauce. Also try Khana Moo Krob (Chinese Kale with Crispy Pork belly). Cosy place, good and humble service. Mostly they serve the Thai way, meaning dishes are served as soon as they're made. So don't get mad if you don't get your food at the same time. You can also order family style, sharing dishes, like Thai people do ;-) GooglePlace - January 2018

Best value for money. Great food and friendly staff. GooglePlace - December 2017

Good selection of flavourful food at a reasonable price (a meal for 2-3 people here cost less than some individual menu items elsewhere in Oslo). We went twice during our stay; the staff were friendly and service was pretty quick (one time was a busy evening, the other a quiet lunchtime but was getting busy as we were leaving). Menu is mostly meat-oriented but there were 4 vegetarian main dishes (red curry was delicious!). Overall pleased, although would like to see a few more vegetarian and beer options.
