Best beef I've had in a long time and the red wine was heavenly, 2007 vintage. Will return!

Ok. So I left a very simple review "best food in Prague, hands down!" But I read the rest of the reviews and felt I had to come edit my last post. First of all, there are a lot of pretentious and snobbish comments here "too cold" "wifi wasn't great" ....blah blah blah. This food is amazing! The wine pairings are what Sommeliers do, aim to compliment a taste with another taste. To each his own. I came here and had the best meal I've had in this fair city. Bear in mind a lot of the locals can't look past the price. It's New York or D.C. expensive which doesn't float here, but the food tops all but the best of the International food scene. Listen, many of the four star reviews here are balking at cost. If you want a great meal, this is your first stop! (make a reservation. ...and it's Prague, people... dress for variations in the weather, especially if you are from the US. We are on latitude with St. John's Island in Canada)

We came without reservation and that was a big mistake ;) We were seated in the ancient wine cellar which was pretty but actually way too cold the longer you sit there. The very nice french waitor brought us some blankets while we were waiting for the food. We had the snails, the beef steak and the octopus. Everything tasted awesome, nothing to complain about! The wine recommendations were good, the wines tasted great. It was expensive, yes, but it was a really good french food experience! So do a reservation and go there :)

Not an expert in these very fine restaurants, but I'm French and it was amazing. Cuisine was almost perfect, with always a little surprise in the taste, and with just a 4 courses meal we all felt we couldn't eat more. Wine selection was generally excellent, although whites where a bit too sweet overall, and I had to ask to change one wine that wasn't providing good continuity. Cheese selection was exceptional: fine and intense. Service was great, by people who visibly enjoy and are proud of what they are serving. Warning: it's quite expensive for the country.
