Tips from the Net @ U Kočku

No idea why so many copy&paste 1 star reviews. Good Czech food, good beer brewed on premises, cool old tavern, Mozart even used to go there. I don't speak Czech and staff were fine. Good spot for lunch and fresh beer GooglePlace - November 2017

I’ve had one of the worst experiences ever. The service at this restaurant sucks. They sit you at a table and then they abandon you for a long while. They don’t respond to signals, they don’t even look in your direction. We ordered a salad and couple of main entrees. I have never eaten a salad that bad in my entire life. Cucumbers were soft and kind of wilted. I got the same kind of cucumber as a side to my main course. While the entrees were relatively tasty, the entire restaurant experience was awful. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. I gave 2 stars because of the above-the-mediocre taste of the main course GooglePlace - October 2017

It's hard to believe that in XXI century, in the center of Europe staff can be so barbaric! The waiter is rude, splitting a bill is impossible ("Only together", quotation). I highly recommend NOT to visit this horrible place! GooglePlace - October 2017

The food is delicious, however the service is unbelievably unpleasant. Waiters look as if they were forced to serve the customers. The manager ignored our questions and acted rude. Wouldn't recommend. GooglePlace - October 2017

I've been here on few occasions throughout a span of few years. Same behaviour, no sight of changes! Every time, we were conned by different methods; we were randomly brought shots and asked to drink them, the waiter even tried to make a toast with us (for which you have to argue to return), we weren't given a receipt and the price calculated was obviously higher than what we ordered. They charged us for the live music, a sauce (gravy actually that's a part of the dish, in either case, we didn't ask for it nor were told it will be added), so good luck challenging their price calculation. For the note, we spoke the local language to them and still got conned. Good to mention that the service is terrible, they don't respect customers and make you feel like you are a bother to them serving you. They do have a central location and will always have customers, at least for now; if you stumble upon this review, please don't support them by going there or at least be very cautious when you do. The food they serve isn't exceptional, average at most and you can surely get much better Czech beer than the one they micro brew there. GooglePlace - September 2017
