We've been here twice. My husband liked the spaghetti with mussels and shrimp so much the first time that he ordered it again. I had a large salad the first time and lentil soup with the smaller salad the next time. Both were simple but we'll made with fine ingredients and the lentil soup, to which i added salt and lemon, was top notch. Both times we were limited on time because we needed to catch a train at nearby Termini. No problem - we were served with great courtesy and consideration, and in good time. Bravo Gallo Nero!

Donot leave Roma before having a lunch at the " Gallo Nero". You will enjoy the excellent Italian gastronomy for a very good price. Donot miss their famous desserts.

I could gave 0 star if I could, for the rude waiter. I came for lunch when the while restaurant is pretty empty. I order pizza and wine. Everything was ok until when I am almost done. The waiter came and asked if I was finished, but in the meantime he tried to take away my dish. I thought he didn't heard what I said. So l smiled at him and said that I am almost done but I am not done yet. He then said that I was the for 1 hour and I was taking a table. 1 hour is not too long for lunch and I did wait fort three good for 15 min. Now If there were people waiting and there was no opening, I could understand, even though je still shouldn't be rude. However, there were 17 table open at the time. I quickly finished my food in 3 min and asked for check. When the check came, I put down my credit card right away to save him some time. And he told me its cash only. There was no sign for cash only and next table just turned to me and told me they used credit card. Overall, a very bad experience. Will never come back to the restaurant even though its right at the hotel corner.
