Tips from the Net @ A La Turca Restaurant

I've noticed more negative reviews lately but our service was stellar, and the food was marvelous. The Donner was the weakest, but the kofte was excellent and the chicken Donner and chicken kabobs were fantastic. The rice pudding was a marvelously chilled, refreshing dessert. I came here about a year ago and it was excellent from memory so I decided why not come here again to revisit this restaurant. I came about three days ago and the restaurant was empty since it was only 4PM. The waiter sat us and he promptly got us drinks. Now a la turca has a great atmosphere, got a TV with a Turkish channel really makes the place feel really authentic. Kinda makes me want to dance with the music. We ordered the spinach and feta pastry along with the flat bread with ground beef, tomatoes and onions for the appetizer. The spinach pastry was hot and fresh. The flat bread was also like a thin crispy pizza without the cheese but the taste really blended the ingredients really well. Now for the main dish which was the chicken beyti . Came in chicken breast pieces wrapped in crispy tortilla covered in red sauce and yogurt. Let me tell you, when you bite into this, you might let out a little moan because of how good it is. Don't worry that's perfectly normal. Also we did order the iskender beef which was covered in yogurt sauce as well. Kind of like thin beef slices. The beef was good but the chicken beyti was far superior in my opinion. What we also ordered was chicken donor which was a nice surprise. It came cooked with several spices and it was really moist and tasteful. Really surprised on how that chicken came on perfectly. And for the last act was dessert of course. Ordered a kind of pudding It was rice, sugar and milk. Simple yet a delicate dish with kinda chilled . Great to cap off the dishes served earlier. Great place to go to be introduced to Turkish food and you will not be disappointed, who knows you might even dance with the Turkish music on your way out. GooglePlace - July 2017

Most amazing bread I have ever eaten. Fresh and hot from the oven. Great falafel for vegetarians! Meat lovers loved the kebabs! GooglePlace - June 2017

Food is good. Staff is nice. The setting inside the restaurant is not at its best, but it's okay. I haven't tried many Turkish restaurants, so I can't compare their food with others, however, I like their food in general GooglePlace - June 2017
