OPENED IN 1907 The Connecticut Yankee is the latest addition to the Pour Guys’ list of classic San Francisco bars. The Yankee was built virtually by hand by the Salvotti family in 1907, and has been a local institution for everyone from our ditch diggers to the city mayor ever since. The place is steeped in rich history – from housing a bootleg operation and speakeasy during Prohibition, to serving as a favorite spot for local artists and the former art director of Rolling Stone magazine in the 70s – the Yankee is truly a San Francisco gem. The Pour Guys took over in 2015, with a commitment to maintaining the bar’s grit and old school charm while integrating calculated changes typical of the team, such as a revamped food program. The Connecticut Yankee is sure to remain a favorite for locals, while becoming a go-to for new visitors seeking great food and an authentic San Francisco vibe.

I'v been hesitant to blow up my spot but the Connecticut Yankee has the best burgers and freshest beer on tap in Potrero Hill. This is a place where you can watch a football game and be surrounded by locals. Pro tip: Add a fried egg to your burger and you won't be disappointed. GooglePlace - November 2017

Delicious! Super delicious. Very friendly and helpful if new to the business. Food and service is amazing. Definitely a must try if in the area. Will not disappoint. Their tri tip sandwich with the crispy rings and both sauces is amazing! Baby back ribs fall off the bone. And must try the black cherry cola GooglePlace - November 2017

Fantastic local bar. Food is very very good for a dive-y type place. Wait-staff are friendly and efficient, crowd is mixed and relaxed. It can get lively in here on sports events. Foursquare - October 2017
