One of the worst service experiences I've had. We had a blonde waitress with a shaved head and big glasses. She insulted and reprimanded half the people at our table directly.
Additionally she was loudly insulting us to OTHER tables and pointing at our table.
I've never been so surprised by such an outstandingly poor service.GooglePlace - November 2017
They have Portuguese food on the menu, and even great choices for breakfast . Plus the place its dope!Foursquare - November 2017
I can't remember the name of the burger I ordered, but it was a double, delicious, and filling, with french fries, you will be leaving stuffed!GooglePlace - October 2017
The burger meat was dry and the bottom bun was soggy. Also, the cheese sticks were frozen. Not any better than fast-food cheese sticks. The waitress was friendly. We brought our almost 2 year old daughter and it's just kind of not the best place for kids. They do have a high chair but it was covered in dust and she had to clean if off before we could use it if that tells you anything. GooglePlace - August 2017
Good food, good quick service. We actually liked the turkey sandwich over the super duper burger. The turkey sandwich tasted fresh, especially the seasoned turkey. The fries were also top notch. Decided not to buy a milkshake though, because they were $12. And we had already spent $34 on our main dishes.GooglePlace - July 2017
Built out of a rail-car, it's got some interesting architecture. The cheeseburgers are pretty amazing, it's usually what I get. The fries are great too.
Good fried chicken tenders as well, emphasis on the tender.
Expect a little wait sometimes, especially when the bars close. Grubstake is open till 4am and it gets amazingly busy at 2am when the bars close. Breakfast all night as well!GooglePlace - April 2017
I like the atmosphere.. good nugget burger n Portuguese pork chop :) service was little slow but friendly enough~ goos for late dining~ I will come back for more ;PFoursquare - March 2015
Rare means rare at Grubstake, and most people love this burger after a long night of cocktails and beer.Foursquare - August 2014
They put chicken tenders on the Specials list; that's how many f**** this place doesn't give. Awesome diner.Foursquare - August 2014
Guy Fieri, host of Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, visits the Grubstake Diner, an old-time American restaurant in downtown San Francisco, that serves up Portuguese specialties.Foursquare - August 2014
This stalwart diner just off Polk Street serves until 4 a.m., and is well known as a pre-hangover, pre-sleep, drunk-eating spot. We'd say it's still a solid bet for the greasiest of hangover remedies.Foursquare - August 2014
Get the breakfast special! Eggs, French toast , sausage, don't forget the home fries!Foursquare - September 2013
