Horrible service I waited for a great deal of time before my existence was even acknowledged I was served a complementary bowl of "soup" which was literally hot water with 7 small cut up potatoes in it. The food was decent but most definitely not worth it. GooglePlace - February 2018

It seems like a War zone here on holidays. They still have you wait even if you have a reservation, what’s the purpose of a reservation ? Hard to find parking but a good restaurant for Hakka cuisine. GooglePlace - January 2018

Hakka. I like that there is a nice restaurant tucked away in the midst of these few blocks. I came here on a Thursday at around 6:30PM with a small group (of 16!) Thankfully we had reservations, and they handled our tables ...yes, Tables... in stride. The food was fantastic. I was here with a large Chinese family, and you simply don't order one plate for one person. We decided on some plates and apps to pass around and waited. I was incredibly surprised as the apps started coming out only 5 minutes after we put in the order! The Rice in Lotus Leaf was really good. I've had them where the majority of the rice sticks to the lotus leaf, but that was not the case at Hakka. The rest of the plates we ordered were full of flavor and cooked to the right level. No cold dishes, no burned chicken. It was fantastic. Service was great, but was certainly made easier by ordering in Mandarin. Tea was frequently checked and replaced a few times before it emptied. Water was served the same way - glasses for those that wanted water, pitchers to pass around which the wait staff checked periodically. Parking is a nightmare. That isn't really Hakka's fault, but subtract 15 minutes from your reservation time to arrive to give yourself a nice buffer to find parking. It wasn't a complete mess on Thursday, however. Overall, Hakka was a nice experience. I usually visit restaurants in Sonoma County, I rarely (sorry!) visit The City to eat, party, etc. but Hakka was absolutely worth the drive. The different foods that I tried, and the general atmosphere was really refreshing. I'll be visiting this restaurant again. GooglePlace - November 2017

The portions are huge, but unfortunately I received the wrong item and the wait staff is far from attentive. It's almost as though they're doing us a favor by serving us. Weird attitudes. Not friendly at all. GooglePlace - November 2017

The restaurant is well decorated and slightly cramped with extra tables upstairs. Although the waitress was very nice, the service was pretty slow. It took them about 10 minutes to bring our soup and tea to the table and more than 30+ minutes for our food to come out after ordering, but the food was delicious and definitely worth the wait. I also believe that the service could be faster when eating downstairs. GooglePlace - July 2017
