Hana ZEN is a Japanese Restaurant at the end of Pier 39 in San Francisco. We serve sushi, seafood, steak and carries an array of dessert. We have a full bar and a dinning area overlooking the San Francisco Bay. This location is great for event and group, or quiet dinner with your love ones.

1 star only because the food was decent and the view is great. Terrible service. Waited for 25 minutes to get water and I had to stop a passing server to ask for it. Once we ordered we got most of our food then had to wait an HOUR for ONE sushi roll and the place wasn't even full of customers. Others around us had the same problem and eventually got up and let because they were tired of waiting. My friend wanted to order a Bento box but the waitress told him that they only served them during lunch which ended 20 minutes prior, during the time that we had been waiting without receiving any service whatsoever!! This place was one of best stops we had while visiting San Fransisco. The Sushi wasn't as good as what we get here in Colorado but definitely the best stop out of the California restaurants we visited. It has a great view of the ocean and bridges. VERY reasonable lunch, with beer, 4-5 rolls, and starters. I will definitely revisit this place when we go to San Francisco again. The servers were also fantastic! GooglePlace - August 2017

Expected tourist trap but pleasantly surprised. The place was empty when we came in around 2pm on a Sunday, which almost made us go elsewhere. I'm glad we didn't because the food was good, service friendly, and great views of the bay. Portions were not large and it was a bit on the expensive side. We didn't try sushi based on low expectations. Garlic noodle, salmon, and ahi salad were good. Would actually go back. GooglePlace - July 2017

Great location with perfect view on Alcatraz Island and all the water activities. Food was amazing and service excellent. Absolutely best place to have a dinner after long day of exploring San Francisco. Angie the owner is wonderful. Will definitely be back when we are in SF. GooglePlace - June 2017

There is a nice view if you sit at the restaurant. We sat at the bar.We ordered on roll to share, which was good but... the bartender was not friendly.... and there was a sign of beers listed and their happy hour menu on the bar itself and also a list of beers on a larger sign at the bar... we asked for a beer from the menu and they didnt have it, asked for another beer, didn't have it. Very confusing. The service was also slow and the place was not busy at that time. GooglePlace - May 2017
