Super fresh seafood! Great oysters and lunch entrees. Service was pretty fast, even on a busy Friday during lunch. Waited only about 15 minutes. Loved the selection of Oysters and all we had were awesome. Had mussels and halibut cheeks for entrees, both were delicious. Definitely worth the visit. GooglePlace - July 2017

Hog Island Oyster Co. can be described in one word: FRESH! If you are a fan of fresh seafood, including oysters and clam chowder, Hog Island is the place to visit. You're server greets you with fresh bread and butter as well as a bottle of water. The menu is full of great seafood choices. The oysters were quite tasty. The dipping sauce/juice that accompanies the tray is something I have never tasted before but complemented the oysters well. The clam chowder is buttery and soupy; hence, the bread is great to dip and sop up every drop. The clams served in their shells give extra flavor and flair to the dish. I highly recommend trying Hog Island Oyster Co. if you want a wonderful dining experience at the Embarcadero Marketplace. GooglePlace - July 2017

On a sat afternoon you can expect a 1 hour wait. If there are just two of you then it may be quicker. The line is a bit confusing because while some were waiting in line others were going right to the bar. But if you wait at the bar then they ask you to move. Anyway, seems a bit unclear and frustrating. Once you get seated though, they bring some fresh bread (I think it's Acme) and not long after come the oysters you order. In our case they were not the oysters we ordered but they made it right by us with a few freebies. Thank you. Great place to enjoy some of the best the Bay Area has to offer. GooglePlace - July 2017

This place is Amazing!!! The line at the front moves super quickly and you can have a drink at a standing table as you wait. Once seated the food is amazing and the wine selection is on point. The service was brilliant and despite the line there was absolutely no pressure to leave! The view from sitting outside is really lovely! GooglePlace - June 2017

Parking: We parked at some meter parking across the street. Be careful ! There was so much shattered glass everywhere on the streets from people stealing from cars. So make sure that you never place any items in your car that can be seen! Please put your stuff in the trunk for safety! Waiting: Went on a Sunday afternoon, a wait is expected. We waited about 30 minutes to get into the restaurant. Service: Was excellent. I really appreciated the quick staff and service we received. Food: Had the 12 dozen oysters (I forget which ones) but they were really really fresh! They were cold and sweet which is exactly how I like them. Also had the Shrimp and Grits, without knowing what grits were. Hm.... I would personally recommend getting something other than the Shrimp and Grits... it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either.
