The view may make you sit, but the food will keep you. Awesome chowder, great muscles, and tasty oysters. The grilled cheese is pretty darn tasty too! The tables are cramped so don't expect an private environment. But if you are just looking for good views and good food, this is it! GooglePlace - November 2017

The clam chowder here is so good! It's not like your traditional chowder in that it isn't the creamy thick but rather its more like a liquid soup. The chowder has fresh clams in their shells and bacon which makes it more fragrant and flavorful with each bite. All the ingredients are fresh and the chowder is worth the higher price. The oyster stew is also worth trying. It's so delicious as the oysters and chipotle butter make the stew so tasty. And of course you should try the oysters on the half shell. Love this place! My second time to SF and to Hog Island. Great seafood, great service and a great vibe. I can't go past big meaty oysters from Washington area and the grilled octopus salad, so tasty. Even the complimentary bread and house butter is delish. There's always a line up but it goes quickly and it's totally worth the wait. GooglePlace - October 2017

I have to tell you that this company knows what's up. I have been all over the world and by far the Grilled Oysters and the Clam Chowder are 20 levels over the average or normal place. They pick the oysters every single morning for the day so that's a Hugh plus for me. The taste is Immaculate:) I can only assume everything else here is just as good. Nothing but the best customer service and atmosphere to go with it since you are on the water. Hope this helps. Super Highly Recommend!!! GooglePlace - October 2017

I ordered oysters, clam chowder, the stew and ginger beer. What a delicious meal! The chowder had a thinner more watery consistency than what I am used to and it was tasty. It came with a ton of clams! The stew is highly recommended. A ton of fresh seafood in it and everything was fresh. The view was awesome as well. There was a harvest moon to our right (on top of the bridge) and to our left were fireworks going off. Great night. It is a bit of a wait though and no reservations so be prepared to wait!
