On Christmas Eve, 2017, (which was also a milestone birthday for me) two family members and I honored reservations made for us, but I left without having a birthday meal. ☹My pork chop, albeit very savory, was pink throughout, so I returned it and requested well-done steak frittes. Well, the steak was beet red inside, as if it had just been seared. Although the server apologized and offered to get me something else, the others (who were treating me) had pretty much finished dining. So, I decided not to risk a 3rd order; i was afraid that it would be raw from freezer to plate! Issues with the server: instead of merely getting a fresh and thoroughly cooked pork chop, he asked if I just wanted my plate heated. Even IHOP would automatically get you a fresh plate. (This quaint place was not crowded and was thinning out even more while we were there.) Also, i assume the young waiter did not tell the cook/chef what was happening b/c the chef never came to the table to personally apologize or offer a gift card (which the waiter did not either) or discuss any preparation details about the meat. I simply do not eat undercooked pork or beef! Also, with respect to the server, each time he brought me a plate of food, I had to request silverware. In addition, the others complained that their macaroni was wet; indeed, I did see liquid, not cheese, dripping from each fork full I saw them eat. In today's world, if this is the worst thing that happened to me on my birthday--and it was-- then I would say that I am a very blessed man-and I am! (I still had a great grilled cheese sandwich at home around the corner from the restaurant with my loving family.) But also in today's America (even in Oak Park), I cannot help wondering if the lack of care and attention given to our table had anything to do with the fact that we were an all-African-American family. Just being honest. GooglePlace - December 2017

Extremely disappointing. The tomato "soup" came as chunks of unappetizing tomato and onion sauce--it looked as if they'd forgotten to blend it into actual soup. The bulgogi (Korean beef) dish was bad too, as the beef was way overcooked, chewy, and tasteless. We had to send the fried chicken appetizer back because the first batch looked burnt and shriveled. Salad wasn't anything special. Overall couldn't believe how much it cost for such small portions and bad food. Oh, and echoing what someone else said about the smoky room -- the smell got into my clothes and hair and my eyes were stinging from the acrid smoke. Avoid this place!! GooglePlace - December 2017
