Really enjoyed the food. This place is apparently the original Burmese restaurant in SF. A lot of the decor felt authentic and we enjoyed the overall feel. The service was awkward and forced. They kept asking if I was ready to order about every minute to 45 seconds. Felt a little pushy to get some other stuff on the menu too. We had the chicken curry and their noodle dish. The curry was succulent and the noodle dish was even better than the sister store of the famous Burmese Star imo. Amazing mix of textures and flavors. Notes of bay leaf wafted and was almost freshly aromatic as your chewing, but the coconut chicken with noodles felt like comfort food. If you like Thai, Indian, or Burmese, this is a must try in SF. Would give a 3.7 if I could, or a 4.5 if the service wasn’t so awkward. GooglePlace - February 2018

The best Burmese food in San Francisco! The owner is a sweetheart and my kids always beg to eat at the "yellow" restaurant. Fantastic takeout as well if you want to avoid the lines. GooglePlace - January 2018

Man I love this place! The Balada is one of my all-time favorite appetizers, such a delicious, buttery, flaky flatbread, super sumptuous curry dipping sauce! You can't go wrong with the tea leaf salad either, very unique if you aren't familiar with Burmese food. I always get both of those for my table, then share some mains too. Yum! Great location and decor, and decent Burmese cuisine. Good thing we didn't drink. While the food was good, it was served in small amounts. You would think a $21 entree of beef would be at least enough for two to share, but there was hardly any beef in it. Mostly inexpensive sweet peppers and an inexpensive sprig of mint on top. Looked great and tasted great, but not worth the price. Since then, we have a much better venue over in Newark that treats you much better. GooglePlace - January 2018

Great food, not a long wait but it is pricey for the portion size. Thankfully the food was very good. Service also was very friendly GooglePlace - January 2018
