The food is good, especially the Pastrami. Also, the service is excellent but the only drawback is their prices. I eat here often but it is usually when I can expense it otherwise, I would only visit on occasion due to the high prices. GooglePlace - August 2017

Large portions and creative menu items. They're famous for their pastrami sandwiches. Delicious lemonade. GooglePlace - July 2017

I normally have nothing but rave reviews for the service as well as the food at the Redwood City location. However, my friend and I decided to have dinner. The service was slow... in fact we ordered French fries which arrived cold. I also asked for sourdough rolls only and never received anything. When or meals arrived...I ordered the rueben, which had always been generous with the corned beef... looked more like a grilled cheese. My friend ordered the bbq pork sandwich, also looked very light on the meat and came with raw onions when the menu states that it comes with pickled onions. It took 20 minutes for the bill and when we talked to the manager he dismissed us. I'm not certain I want to ever go back! GooglePlace - June 2017

Was trying to go to Peet's Coffee for a cup of hot tea Sat after 10 pm 06/17/17 . I found them closed. Then I decided to go to Max's. I asked bartender if they carry English breakfast tea and right there I found that lady very very very rude. I believe after that it was their manager got close to me and tried to fix it up. Have never seen a single NOT nice bartender ever before! A rude bartender really hurts! Also I respect their (I assume manager) turn ! GooglePlace - June 2017

Convenient tasty (but not gourmet) food close to Davies Symphony Hall and the Opera. I had the latkes which comes with a very small container of sour cream and applesauce.... which was mostly sour cream. Better would be a small container of each. Son had corned beef sandwich which was generous and tasty. His friend ordered Caesar Salad and I really like that they asked if he wanted anchovies or not. We lingered and they didn't bother us. We ate around 4 pm and they seemed to be a little short handed, perhaps some of the wait staff were on break. Took a long time for our drinks to come but food came promptly. Solid 4 stars.
