I have had pastrami at delis all over America, including New York, Miami Beach, and Chicago. The pastrami I had at Max's today was the fattiest and greasiest I have ever tried to eat. I had to blot off the grease and even then I had indigestion after eating only half the sandwich. Also, the rye bread was stale. The take out plastic cartons were almost impossible to snap close. And the prices were outrageous. $25 for sandwich, lemonade, tax, and tip. Order something else. Better yet, eat somewhere else. GooglePlace - September 2017

A good deli, food is not bad, good service. Nice space, has large continuous exterior glazing - good Street view. GooglePlace - August 2017

I came here expecting much better food. The Philly cheese steak I ordered was okay and the potato salad was awful. It tasted store bought to me. Service was not bad but the food was overpriced. GooglePlace - August 2017

The food is good, especially the Pastrami. Also, the service is excellent but the only drawback is their prices. I eat here often but it is usually when I can expense it otherwise, I would only visit on occasion due to the high prices. GooglePlace - August 2017

I normally have nothing but rave reviews for the service as well as the food at the Redwood City location. However, my friend and I decided to have dinner. The service was slow... in fact we ordered French fries which arrived cold. I also asked for sourdough rolls only and never received anything. When or meals arrived...I ordered the rueben, which had always been generous with the corned beef... looked more like a grilled cheese. My friend ordered the bbq pork sandwich, also looked very light on the meat and came with raw onions when the menu states that it comes with pickled onions. It took 20 minutes for the bill and when we talked to the manager he dismissed us. I'm not certain I want to ever go back! GooglePlace - June 2017
