Tips from the Net @ Mikkeller Bar

My wife's son recommended this place to us while we were on a work related visit to San Francisco...he knows where all the good bars are.We walked from our hotel in Nob Hill and it didn't take more than a few minutes. It's a really classy joint inside and was pretty packed when we showed up.Lovely Taryn showed us to a nice bar height community table and then Bryce showed up soon after to help us select our meals and help me choose the right beer.My wife ordered the Cauliflower Tempura and I felt like the Salt Cod Cakes would be enough after a late lunch. Let me say our meals were fantastic.Bryce was great help advising on a couple of incredible IPA'S that I really enjoyed. The music was spot on,the place had a real cool vibe and the table service was impeccable. We absolutely loved our time here. Loads of tasty beers. Cool vibes lots of seating. As far as I food I ordered the chicken sausage which came split in half inside a taco shell. It was above average. The mac n cheese was bomb. Either way, this place is cool. Come by if you like delicious beers. GooglePlace - June 2017

Mikkeller Bar is one of my favorite places to stop if I am even remotely close. I'll drive all the way in from San Jose just for the beer selection... And the food.. It may look like fusion pub grub, but it's 5 star. The service is AMAZING. Everyone is friendly, happy, and on top of it. Don't know what to eat? Trouble finding a beer. Just ask for Arturo... He's the ultimate guide, the beer whisperer! GooglePlace - June 2017

Pretty sweet spot with great beer served at the correct temperatures. This is about as high end as you can get in the Bay Area and the bill will show that. The bacon-wrapped sausages were damn tasty and with two people we couldn't finish it, there were a lot. GooglePlace - June 2017

They have a decent selection of excellent beers and a small but tasty menu of mostly greasy, heavy and meaty pub foods. It's a fairly trendy spot so it can get busy and the prices are high, but if you're looking for good beer and good food and you're already going to spend the money, this is a solid choice. I was told by a co-worker that their Reuben is the best in the city. It is good but not great. I don't know what would get that honor, but I doubt it would be this one. I think the one at Machine is generally at least as good (and a bit cheaper, but only available at lunch). Their fries are quite good. GooglePlace - May 2017
