Came to Plin the other night as part of a birthday party of 12, and was led to a private room towards the back of the restaurant, enclosed in glass with optional curtains (in case you feel like animals in a glass cage). I'm not sure if it was just the way they handle large groups, or because the birthday girl requested it, but our dinner was presented as a fixed menu, with our choice of one of three entrees, while the rest of the dishes were all presented family style.
I don't remember all the particulars anymore, but it was something like a nine course menu, with two or three appetizers, two or three shared pasta dishes, an entree (I got the duck), and three desserts, all of which were pretty solid. The appetizers were tasty; the pastas were delicious; the duck was, while not the best I've had, quite tasty, and surprisingly plentiful; the dessert was okay, but probably the most lackluster part of the meal.
While definitely on the pricier side at ~$94 per person after tax and tip (which included about two drinks a person), the service was wonderful, the portions were more than filling (most of us were full by the time the pastas came around), and, overall, the food was almost all rather tasty.
Venue - A fairly large space, most of which is perfectly accessible.
Bathroom - Accessibility in the sense of privacy aside (the bathrooms are unisex, and frosted glass, if that sort of thing unsettles you), the first stall/room is perfectly accessible.GooglePlace - June 2016
Delicious modern Italian food, amazing wine list, sweet servers, pleasant setting, reasonable prices. Any wonder my wife and I, long time SF, foodies keep back again and again. Bravo!GooglePlace - May 2016
Custom noodles are the way to go. The arrabbiata sauce is particularly good. The appetizer to get is the raviola uovo though it's not enough to be a main. I recommend sharing an app and a mainFoursquare - March 2016

What a marked improvement over Plin. Menu more focused and consistent I execution. Aloe seems the bar staff trained the others on interacting with customers. Good food, moderate prices and great staff - great addition to the neighborhood. GooglePlace - November 2015
The food is pretty good, but it's just not worth the slow service.Foursquare - November 2015
Choose from nine different pastas (including pappardelle and gnocchi), sauces (vodka, creamy tomato, pork ragu), seasonal vegetables and a protein (including calamari, chicken and braised oxtail).Foursquare - October 2015
Nearly fell asleep before The Night Cap arrived. It was worth it though! The giant ravioli with an egg inside it isn't too shabby either.Foursquare - October 2015
