Tips from the Net @ Orexi

The lamb shank was the high light of the meal as the meat was tender and came off the bone easily. The halibut was nothing special, not particularly well cooked nor seasoned. Our waitor meant well but was somewhat bothersome. None of the food I think I would order again including the appetizers. Perhaps just an off night? There were a number of open tables at 6pm Friday, didn't need a reservation. GooglePlace - February 2018

Good vibe and pretty good food. I give 5 stars but I still have my two cents and some tips: Tips: 1) This place closes on Monday. 2) Give them a call even if the time slot you want doesn’t look like available as they maybe squeeze you in Two cents: 1) Saganaki isn’t as thick as the ones I used to have in Greece 2) The moussaka was a little bit too salty, and the eggplant part was chunky, not smooth as it should be. We had a great experience this evening at Orexi. We came for Friday dinner , a group of 8 people. The service was wonderful, every recommendation was on point starting with the wine and followed by the rest of the meal, everything was exquisite and we all agreed that we’re definitely coming back. A few things to point out- The grilled calamari starter was wonderful, as well as the shrimp. We had the sea bass and halibut, both were cooked to perfection and served with veggies. Our friends had the musakka and said it was delicious but had too much meat and not enough eggplant. We really had to fight over the desserts which were wonderful!!! We had the cheesecake and the custard. Overall- wonderful! GooglePlace - January 2018

12 mins from downtown, great place to take customers. No joke, the best Greek food I've ever had (including three times I spent in Greece). Higher end restaurant, but still very affordable. My customer called it her foodie meal of her entire trip. We didn't order any main dishes except one flat bread, but had 6 appetizers and could not finish anything. There was a table of 30 people, giant Greek family, but we could still hear each other and enjoy our own conversation. The high ceilings allowed for great sound dissipation. The octopus and lamb were out of this world good, I mean, finger licking good! Same with all the dishes, but those two were our favorite. The drive out from downtown San Francisco took 12 mins and was a beautiful drive looking down on the city. GooglePlace - November 2017

Was so engrossed in conversation, we forgot to take pictures. The food was spectacular. Grilled octopus, melted in your mouth. We had the bass special, which was cooked to perfection and ended with the phyllo custard filled dessert. Was a perfect meal. Sure company matters as well, especially when everything is sharable. Definitely going back with hubby. GooglePlace - November 2017
