The origin of Peasant Pies can be traced to Sète, an old port city in the South of France. Small savory pies are a specialty of the region, purchased as snacks by local fishermen who appreciate their low cost and eat-anywhere appeal.Inspired by this regional favorite, Cordon Bleu-trained chef Gérard Buulong and partner Ali Keshavarz founded Peasant Pies, bringing the authentic flavors of Southern France to the Bay Area. Finally got a chance to stop by today and I was really glad I did! The Chicken pie brought back memories of younger days and having the pies out and ready to heat meant we were in and out in a flash. Can't wait to go back! GooglePlace - October 2017

Be it a sweet pie or a savoury one they are awesome. Excellent value for money plus there is a small amount of seating inside. Well worth a visit if you in the area. GooglePlace - June 2017

Such a small wonderful place to stop on Irving street. Even if you've been urban hiking all day and you need a little pick me up get a pie! Or two or three! They use all natural ingredients and have vegetarian and vegan options and free secured WiFi too! GooglePlace - June 2017

My favorite pie right now is the pie of the month! If your in the neighborhood! stop by & try it! it's real good! oh! & the chicken pie now called chicken pot pie has improved, it taste better than ever! my other two favorites are ham egg & cheese & the beef potato 🥔 pie, plus the dough for all the savory & vegan pies have a better taste than before! As for the sweet pies my all time favorite is the pear 🍐 crumble, hands down the best pies you'll taste in SF, plus they fit in your hand, you don't need forks or spoons to eat these, just pick one up & enjoy. I hate that I am just now trying these delicious, wonderful, warm-the-tummy-and-the-heart pies! We live in the neighborhood forever and had never been brave enough to go in! Today was different though, maybe because my mom was with me, I had the eggs and veggies pie, and my mom had the zucchini and mushroom pie! They were so good, it's definitely homemade and fresh! Oh, and the person who was behind the counter was awesome! Great customer service. Thank you! GooglePlace - February 2017
