Fantastic ramen and skewers. I love that this place has Nama sake on tap, as well as a love of kewpie mayo. GooglePlace - October 2017

Goku makes great Ramen and great salads. The kitchen is matter-of-fact types dedicated to the craft of cooking this staple of Japanese cuisine. Slurping noodles Kansai-style is being acknowledged with a brief pause in activity and content silence. The staff is uncomplicated and welcoming. GooglePlace - September 2017

The only saving grace to the ramen here was the broth. Strong flavor with good seasoning, it was better than the average ramen shop. However, that's about the only good thing I have to say. The noodles tasted store-bought. Hard, chewy, and tasteless, almost like an afterthought to the meal that it was named after. Service was also extremely slow. We ordered our appetizer of Takoyaki balls 10 minutes prior to our ramen, and it came 20 minutes after the ramen was served (45 minutes in total). And be mindful that they will charge $3 for a hot tea, which is typically provided for free at a ramen restaurant. With all the options in SF, I'd be hard-pressed to return. GooglePlace - July 2017

The ramen is very mediocre overall, and I do not recommend it. The meat was thick but also harder than it should be. The egg was flavorless and undercooked a smidgen. The noodles were obviously store bought and harder than they should be. This is all the tonotsu ramen had. I do want to point out the broth was extremely good. The ramen took over ten minutes to arrive at the table. The takoyaki took over thirty minutes to arrive which is unacceptable. It was good but not worth the wait. The service was slow and they did not refill the tea ($3 for tea). Overall this place was expensive for what it was. GooglePlace - July 2017

There's one one vegetarian option in the mains. Would have loved more varieties. Good place, good food and nice people. GooglePlace - July 2017
