Ahmed is great. He makes the place bright, fun, and he talks to all the patrons. It's been three months since the first time I was there, and he remembered my name, and asked me where my girlfriend was. He's really good at what he does. The food is amazing. I can't get enough of it. I want to keep coming back. I'm not a vegan at all, but the vegan food at the Red Door Cafe really can be better than non vegan. Give it a whirl. GooglePlace - July 2017

This place is one of San Francisco's brightest gems. Ahmed is an artist in the kitchen and has one of the most beautiful hearts. You have to be kind and willing to wait (he runs the entire place solo and things take time) but you will be sincerely rewarded if you hang in there. I want to stress that the man operating this establishment is clinically unstable. To enter the restaurant you must be granted permission. Don't think about asking for water, to quite the owner, "that's rude behavior here in San Francisco." I'll throw the guy a bone and say that the food was very good, the pancakes are honestly out of this world. But I don't understand how it's okay to pull someone aside to say rude things about their girlfriend. The vibe comes off as "hey I was nice enough to grant permission for you to come in my restaurant, now following exact rules or I'll be rude to you as a diner.
