I came all the way from Australia to visit the bar at The Slanted Door, as it was highly recommended, and I was not disappointed! The staff are friendly and professional, and the cocktails are spot on--I should know, being in the industry myself. The food is also sublime. This place does hospitality to a T, and I guarantee you will have a great time if you visit The Slanted Door, regardless of whether you're a local or a tourist. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. Thanks again! GooglePlace - January 2018

Let me start by saying the food is great. The service is far less than great, maybe it's because they are so busy, or maybe because they are so busy it's okay to piss off the few. We checked our BANK STATEMENT today and it APPEARS our very lackluster waiter first input the wrong total into the credit card machine. He then did it correctly we paid and left. BUT there is still a PENDING CHARGE and the bank has NOT RELEASE THE EMPLOYEES MISTAKE YET. I would not be so upset if the employee at the Slanted Door, One Ferry Building was not so RUDE the entire evening. He acted like he was doing us a huge favor by taking our order. The only thing I can say is CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENT!! And make sure your waiter loves what they are doing because this guy was rude and not the sharpest tool in the shed. GooglePlace - January 2018

My wife and I love this place and we have been there a few times over the last few years, most recently on NY eve last week. The food is absolutely outstanding, though not cheap. The chef melds Asian and American flavors into something pretty unique, and the execution is flawless. The ambience and service have also been consistently excellent. I would normally give them a 5-star review but the wine list holds me back, as it is pretty weak both in terms of the selection available and the quality of the wine served. This is less true when you buy a bottle but the selection is still incredibly biased toward German/Austrian wines...I don’t remember seeing so many Rieslings on a wine list at any other restaurant, outside of Germany perhaps. This really needs to be addressed if they want my fifth star. GooglePlace - January 2018

The best "modern" Vietnamese I've had. It's expensive, but utterly delicious, with good cocktails as well. This sprawling restaurant is located at the northern corner of the Ferry Building, and for San Fran is extremely spacious. There's also outdoor seating and a takeout window on the inside hallway. Between us, we had four shrimp, chicken, and vegetarian dishes (they are served "family style") and all were superlative-- intense flavors, crisp textures, balanced seasoning. The dishes are the appropriate size to share among 1-3 people, depending on appetite. Two rounds of cocktails were equally tasty including my orange Caipirinha. Service was brisk, polite, and efficient. It's pricey, especially if you are expecting Vietnamese to be a "cheap" cuisine (Asian cuisines as a whole get that bad rap), but then again this is waterfront in San Fran-- pricing is as expected considering that location. High end interpretation of Vietnamese dishes. Extremely popular, so best to get reservations. Couples can usually squeeze in at the bar. Avoid the extended dining area near the back end of the bar. It was an afterthought to increase seating, but has no ambience and you're basically left staring at walls. The main dining area has gorgeous views of the Bay Bridge. Food is delicious, but has been so over hyped, better to tamp down expectations and you'll walk away very pleased. Service is great. GooglePlace - November 2017
