I don't even know where to begin with Sons & Daughters!
Firstly, well before we even dined, Julianna made this experience to be so memorable. This was the restaurant we chose to dine at after we got married at City Hall, and my word were we glad we chose this establishment. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth from not only Julianna, but the entire team. We were given the best table is the restaurant and presented with two glasses of champagne instantly. The food (every course), was so memorable and delicious that it is hard to chose a favourite. The wines that were paired with the dishes were exceptional on every level too. Julianna went to so much trouble to make sure our night was memorable, and my word did she exceed our expectations. Ps She even created a playlist for us, which was perfect. I am not sure when we will be back in San Francisco, but I do know that Sons and Daughters will be high on our list and I strongly recommend that you guys do the same. Simply put, perfect in every way!

We had been meaning to go to this restaurant for a long time. My husband took me here for my birthday dinner. We had a lovely evening. The whole meal lasted almost 3 hours. The ambiance is very intimate and personalized. The service was great. Everyone was very cordial and wished me for my birthday. The welcome drink - a Cava was really nice. The sommelier had the right wine recommendations for our food.
My biggest biggest let down was the food itself. They call it a "9 course meal". But 2 out of my 9 courses - that were supposedly the main courses, were TOO SALTY that I could not eat them at all! 3 of the courses were dessert and I do not have a sweet tooth, so didn't really care for them. Being a vegetarian, a lot of friends recommended this place to me, as they accommodate dietary preferences. The only thing I ate that night were - carrot, corn, avocado (all about a table spoon portion size.) I did not care for the fig leaf wrapped in breakfast cheese. It was meh! We have been to about 15 Michelin star restaurants in San Francisco. This was the most disappointing one in terms of food. I think they tried so hard to replicate the look and feel of the vegetarian food with the regular menu that they compromised the taste and the flavor profile.

This place blew me away.
My boyfriend booked my 30th birthday dinner here. We enjoyed 9 courses, plus an additional 3 bread courses, wine pairing, and a celebratory glass of champagne. The service was fantastic, the food was incredibly tasty, and the whole experience was lovely. They made me feel super special - I'd definitely come back.
The only thing I'd change is three of the nine courses were dessert. I'm not a big dessert person, and while I liked the cheese course, I didn't need the other two. I would have rathered more savory courses instead.

As many others have said, the wine pairing is a must. As an option, they split the pairing between the two of us by pouring the glasses lighter. The service is truly exceptional without pretension.

Food is good, not great. I was surprised and disappointed by how few dishes really made me go "wow." A couple dishes were just way over salted which really caught us off guard. The wine pairings were very good and although the staff seemed to have an off night, everyone was extremely personable and friendly.
