Description

Haight-Ashbury is a district of San Francisco, California, named for the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets. It is also called The Haight and The Upper Haight. The neighborhood is known for its history of, and being the origin of, hippie counterculture.LocationThe district generally encompasses the neighborhood surrounding Haight Street, bounded by Stanyan Street and Golden Gate Park on the west, Oak Street and the Golden Gate Park Panhandle on the north, Baker Street and Buena Vista Park to the east and Frederick Street and Ashbury Heights and Cole Valley neighborhoods to the south. The street names commemorate two early San Francisco leaders: Pioneer and exchange banker Henry Haight and Munroe Ashbury, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from 1864 to 1870. Both Haight and his nephew as well as Ashbury had a hand in the planning of the neighborhood, and, more importantly, nearby Golden Gate Park at its inception. The name "Upper Haight", used by locals, is in contrast to the Haight-Fillmore or Lower Haight district; the latter being lower in elevation and part of what was previously the principal African-American and Japanese neighborhoods in San Francisco's early years.

Very fresh and fast. Friendly service. My burrito was oddly flavorless--next time I'll get the spicy salsa. GooglePlace - September 2017

Quesadilla had very little tomato, avocado & sour cream. For not having meat it should of had lots of it. Paid $8 + $2 tip way too expensive. Place was very dirty and infested with mosquitoes. Only good thing was one of the ladies taking my order was nice. Other than that go spend your $$$ somewhere else. GooglePlace - August 2017

Underrated. Probably the best burrito in the Upper Haight, and you can order from Hobson's Choice. Foursquare - August 2017

Best burrito I have ever had. Every time I am near the Haight area, I always stop in to grab one. Friendly staff and cozy environment. I absolutely love it here. GooglePlace - August 2017

Excellent simple yet delicious. Nice fast service with a decent amount of seating. The menu is small and yet you won't have trouble finding something you like. They have fish and shrimp options as well. GooglePlace - August 2017
