Tips from the Net @ The Chowder Hut

I quite enjoy Boudin and come here each time I'm in town. If I was just reviewing the bread they'd get 5 stars but I had the chowder in bread bowl today. The bread was as always amazing San Francisco sour dough that the rest of the world tries to emulate but rarely gets it just right. The chowder texture was perfect and it's colour and temperature spot on. However it lacked a little flavour. Still a very enjoyable dish. Staff were quick and efficient and despite the big queue it moves fast so you don't wait very long. Seating can be a little problematic and generally people will share tables. This had some of the best chowder I have ever had. We each got chowder in a bread bowl and split the you peel shrimp which was full of flavor. The only downside is how early this place closes compared to other places nearby. GooglePlace - August 2017

Garlic Shrimp was my favorite. Definitely a must get! We would eat here again. Fast and friendly service. GooglePlace - August 2017

Friendly staff, quick service, & totally relaxed environment. Food is a little different. Crab chowder is spicy and the crab is steamed with lime and herbs. If you're looking for traditional chowder & crab, this isn't the place. GooglePlace - July 2017
Quite frankly, this is a great no-frills chic seafood hot spot with an amazing outdoor patio that is perfect for conversation over cold beers and people watching. The service is fun, fast and friendly, the food is typically fresh and good, and the prices are reasonable with great happy hour deals. Smell the clean ocean air, listening to music and drinking cocktails while enjoying your fish and chips. Clientele is young professionals, tourists, housewives, hipsters, artistic types and empty nesters. Recommended. GooglePlace - May 2017
