I love grilled cheese probably more than anyone else I know (as long as it's not American cheese- blekh!) and this place seemed promising: -Under $7 for a grilled cheese sandwich (even a "specialty one"), in SF -They have burgers for people who want their meat -close to work -Grilled Cheese! However, they move so fast and don't seem to pay attention to the actual order. I can't remember the name of the sandwich I got but it had mushrooms so I asked for no mushrooms, and if they had to give it to me, not in the sandwich. What did I get? EXTRA mushrooms! And then my coworker got the same sandwich and she added a tomato - she got no mushrooms. SMH. Good cheese but not worth it - Safeway makes a 3 cheese panini and with all the topics and sauces one could add, it's a pretty darn good grilled cheese. This place needs to step up their game a bit. Some amazing grilled cheese sandwiches and good soups. Great place for a comfort food lunch. A little pricey for what it is but then again its downtown SF and you can't really find cheap food anywhere in this area. GooglePlace - November 2015

When I worked in this area, The Melt was on of my go to lunch spots. The staff was friendly and worked very quickly. I always got a soup and sandwich combo with fresh lemonade. Tip: This location gets really packed during lunch so go a bit early or later than the normal lunch hours. The lemonade also sells out very quickly, but make sure to ask the staff if they have more. Sometimes they have hidden cups in the fridge. GooglePlace - July 2015
