Description

East meets west at The Ramen Bar, the new San Francisco concept from Ken Tominaga and Michael Mina. The Ramen Bar blends rich California cooking philosophy with time-honored Japanese traditions to create a new variation of classic ramen with West Coast style. Using only the finest and freshest local ingredients farmed in the Bay Area, Ken Tominaga's bent on the Japanese comfort food staple is elegant, flavorful, light and nuanced. Spotlighting the bounty of Northern California, Ken's selection of ramen bowls, salads and rice bowls are a prime example of what happens when tradition looks to the future. The Ramen Bar is the only place in San Francisco that serves LAMILL Coffees and Teas before 12pm, impeccably-sourced from Craig Min’s coffee roastery in Los Angeles. We also offer milk teas and boba, as well as assorted pastries and desserts. Join us for Happy Hour, daily, featuring Kirin Ichiban – by the glass ($3) or pitcher ($16), Momokawa Junnmai Ginjo sake ($4), daily shochu punch ($5) and beer & a (sake) shot ($6). Little Bites like edamame, crispy miso duck wings, & steamed pork buns ($4 - 7). Don't forget to join us for Kanpai Fridays, where we offer all night happy hour from 3pm to close (9pm). Located in San Francisco’s Financial District, THE RAMEN BAR combines rustic, old-world Japanese charm with modern, urban sophistication to spotlight Ken’s signature Tokyo-style ramen recipes.

Ramen is "ok" maybe passable but not knock my socks off. Their poke bowl was better. Prices are steep. But its Fidi. GooglePlace - September 2017

Not bad broth. Table seating more in benches than tables. Can get busy. GooglePlace - September 2017

This place is pretty good. Broth is a bit more oily than I'm used to but the ginger chicken ramen that I got was still very tasty and flavorful. Chicken slices could use a bit more flavor, but it was acceptable and very tender. The boba tea they have here too is REALLY good. It tastes fresh and feels very organic. Overall a solid place I'd say to go to. GooglePlace - September 2017

This was the first time I ever ate at a ramen bar and the experience was so nice that now every time we see a ramen bar we have to try it. GooglePlace - August 2017

Great lunch and happy hour spot in the financial district for savory ramen, particularly exceptional on a chilly day. Come on a Tuesday for their lunch special, a decadent fried chicken sandwich. GooglePlace - June 2017
