“Altstadt is a bierhalle and brathaus located in Pioneer Square, Seattle. We specialize in northwest inspired German and Sudetenland fare alongside unique beers and liquors served in a warm atmosphere. Our large, rustic halle is perfect for an intimate group of ten, or a party of up to 200. The large wooden tables and open spaces make Altstadt a comfortable environment for lunches, dinners, and casual social gathering. The halle opens up through four tall doors to a bar stool seating deck looking out over the hustle and bustle of first ave. and old Pioneer Square.”

The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing. The pretzel and cheese was tiny and overpriced compared to ones I’ve had at other German restaurants. Not worth it. Our entire entree of a bratwurst, fries, and two types of sauerkraut was only $4 more than the single pretzel and small cheese cup. It was an okay experience overall, but I don’t think we’d eat here again. GooglePlace - December 2017

The Bier (beer) here is always great, and the food in unrealistically amazing. I was so glad my friend made me come here. This was where we started a fun night of drinking and events in Seattle, and this place was easily my favorite memory of the night. Definitely check this place out, whether partying or just going for a quick beer and dinner. GooglePlace - December 2017

Amazing German fare. Pretzels were great. Highly recommend the sausages. Beer was also excellent. Difficult to find parking as it is in downtown Seattle. Food 7/10, service 7/10, atmosphere 7/10 (nice bench seating, seating for outdoors, and bar seating) GooglePlace - December 2017

Sauerkraut should be at least a little sour. Nice place for drinks and snacks with a group. The food is fine but I wouldn't go for traditional German food. GooglePlace - November 2017

Service was fantastic, we had a Berlin native as our server and was able to trade recipes and places to visit that taste like home for him and my husband. Beer and cider was great. We got a cheese plate which was amazing and a charcuterie which was okay. Maybe it was my American palate but the meat selection just didn't sit right for me. It wasn't bad mind you, but just not quite what I felt was good. This is definitely a place we will go again. GooglePlace - October 2017
