Tips from the Net @ Duke's Chowder House

My wife and I were in Seattle for three months over the summer. In all that time, there were only two non-fast food restaurants we ate at multiple times. Duke's was one of them. The chowder is delicious, with a blend of spices that I really haven't tasted anywhere else. If you can, definitely try to get there for the happy hour deals. And the location right on Lake Union offers some excellent views. GooglePlace - December 2017

Went to Seattle on Business for the week, and my Wife came to stay with me for the first few days. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We tried a few other restaurants while in Seattle, but kept coming back here, both for Lunch and Dinner. We each ended up going here 4 times during our stay, with me bringing in some associates from work on one of those visits, and the Wife visiting on her own for lunch. Food - you can't go wrong here, tried everything from the chowder sampler through their filet, with salmon, calamari, and burgers in-between, and everything was very tasty, and cooked with perfection. The food here is very savory, and not due to too much salt. You can tell the food is prepared with care, and is definitely the star here at Duke's. The wines we had were fantastic(her Riesling, and my Duke's favorite Red), along with some other libations, all made to perfection. Of course none of the meals here would have been good without the expert, helpful and friendly service we received each and every time we visited here. One of the few things that will call us back from Chicago to Seattle will be Duke's! GooglePlace - November 2017

Delicious if not slightly over priced seafood. None of the recipes reinvent anything, but they they tend to be delicious. Fantastic chowder. Just don't order the bread bowl, eat your bread on the side. The middle is the best part! Not the fanciest place, but very relaxed and comfortable. Stiff drinks, fun bartenders, a Seattle classic.
