Tips from the Net @ Jack's Fish Spot

Came for late lunch and ordered the regular cod fish and chips, clam chowder, and a Dungeness crab. The cod fish came out quickly and hot, fresh from the fryer. The taste, however, was lacking, the fish was not quite as fresh as advertised, and the chips were too dry, yet not quite crunchy, and tasteless. The chowder was savory and was not too pricy, at $5.99 for 12 oz. The crab, to my taste, was not fresh and overall, it was a horrible meal for the excessively high price. Additionally, the coworkers are a bit standoffish, and seating was near impossible to claim though it was off-peak hours. Come for the chowder and nothing else. GooglePlace - August 2017

Truly authentic, from the fishy smells and the fisherman banter, authentic seafood that beats the rest. Expect $9 for cod fish and chips. Don't skip the secret sauce and add a little malt vinegar. Best fish and chips at pikes place! GooglePlace - August 2017

Fresh seafood, any fresher and you'd have to catch it yourself. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They do a much better job filleting fish than the grocery store. Prices tend to be more competitive than in the main market itself. I love their salmon jerky. When visiting, bring your cooler, and fill it up at this place. It's the real deal! I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips thinking $8.99 was a bargain. The fish was more the size of 3 fish nuggets and badly overcooked. I threw most of it out and still ended up getting sick a few hours later which typically happens with me when I eat something cooked in oil that has long since passed its prime. When I mentioned to staff that the fish was overcooked I was basically sneered at. This was unquestionably the worst fish I have ever had. Even had the fish been cooked right in fresh oil given the portion size of the fish this place rates a zero for value for the dollar. I visited this place several years ago and it was great. I presume it has had an ownership change since then or something drastic. GooglePlace - July 2017

While in route to an Alaskan cruise, I stopped at the Pike's Market and encountered Jack's Fish Spot. WOW!!! A lovely young lady offered me some "salmon candy" (sounded gross!), but I gave it a try. WOW again! Delicious smoked salmon with a brown-sugar rub. I've been ordering it by the pound ever since. Jack's customer service (I usually speak to Jack, who is a great guy) is EXCELLENT! They ship me salmon 3000 miles to New York City in vacuum sealed packages (in a stay cold styrofoam box). Well worth the expense. If I'm ever in Seattle again...this will be one of my very first stops! I highly recommend it!!! GooglePlace - May 2017
