Japonessa features a Japanese core concept menu with hints of Latino flair. Featuring an impressive selection of sakes, wines, and finely crafted cocktails, as well as the city's most extensive Happy Hour, we are the downtown destination for some of the best sushi Seattle has to offer! Our happy hour runs from open until 6:30pm in the whole restaurant, continues in the bar, patio, and lounge until 8pm, and then from 10pm until close in the entire restaurant again Japonessa houses the latest talents of renowned Chef Billy Beach. As the opening Chef for Wasabi Bistro and Umi Sake House, Billy's menus have become synonymous with success. Japonessa marks Billy's latest venture with longtime friend (and original Wasabi Bistro investor) Jason Koh. Since opening its doors in August 2010, Japonessa has garnered a tremendous following, as well as earning a nod from Seattle Met Magazine for best sushi in their "Best Asian Restaurants" cover article issue.

I have been a regular customer of Japonessa since March last year. Great staffs, top of the food chain service, excellent and creative food, and beautiful location. To either Seattlites or travellers, the location is a must. Do not let expectations get in the way - the food is, again, awesome, but some dishes are a mixture of cultures. They do whatever it takes to retain the Japanese heritage, however, so it is a very interesting mix. All in all, highly recommended, especially during happy hours, which is essentially morning till evening everyday. GooglePlace - February 2018

I have visited this place a few times but this time was alone . I simply love their yakisobha because of the simplicity and flavours. I sat by the bar and devoured my meal along with a ginger beer . Blissful . The staff is very friendly too. I found a place I can be myself and enjoy a meal on Any day now . If you love sushi’s this is the place . Nothing has let us down ever. Must visit . If you are going in a big group please make reservations as this place goes full most times . GooglePlace - January 2018

This place is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. The Japonessa calamari listed on the happy hour menu has been my favorite dish since I first tried it in 2015. I go here regularly, and I love it so much because it's consistent, the happy hour prices are phenomenal, and the food comes out so quickly. I just recently tried the lobster soup this past month and now I have added that to my regular order. The base is the most delicious soup I've ever tasted in my life, hands down, and on top of that there is lobster, it is pure heaven. Also, the salmon skin sushi is wonderful. One thing to add is that the calamari Japonessa is wonderful as a leftover as well. Seriously, if can't finish it all in one sitting, then I look forward to how as a leftover the flavor changes once a few hours have passed and the dressing has wilted the salad portion. I have not received any free food to write this review, I am just a huge fan and wish Japonessa the greatest success and longevity! I'll post pictures next time I'm there. GooglePlace - January 2018

If you come when they don't have happy hour... your doing it wrong. This place has the longest happy hour I have ever seen and the prices are good. The sushi is fresh and delicious too so go check it out and be impressed. You will thank me. GooglePlace - January 2018

Good sushi. Happy hour prices were great. Happy hour is pretty much all day... I think it cuts off at 6:00. Call or check the website ahead of time. Good service. GooglePlace - January 2018
