Description

Japonessa features a Japanese core concept menu with hints of Latino flair. Featuring an impressive selection of sakes, wines, and finely crafted cocktails, as well as the city's most extensive Happy Hour, we are the downtown destination for some of the best sushi Seattle has to offer! Our happy hour runs from open until 6:30pm in the whole restaurant, continues in the bar, patio, and lounge until 8pm, and then from 10pm until close in the entire restaurant again Japonessa houses the latest talents of renowned Chef Billy Beach. As the opening Chef for Wasabi Bistro and Umi Sake House, Billy's menus have become synonymous with success. Japonessa marks Billy's latest venture with longtime friend (and original Wasabi Bistro investor) Jason Koh. Since opening its doors in August 2010, Japonessa has garnered a tremendous following, as well as earning a nod from Seattle Met Magazine for best sushi in their "Best Asian Restaurants" cover article issue.

Such an exquisite menu, loved every item I tried. Nice happy hour options, easy location, nice staff. This place can get quite busy so I recommend reservations if you don't want to spend time waiting GooglePlace - December 2017

There is only about an hour and a half a day that this place doesn't offer happy hour. If you're looking for some quick sushi at a good price, this is a must. Of course none of the really good sushi they have is on the happy hour menu ... But there's nothing wrong with a $5 spicy hamachi roll! GooglePlace - December 2017

Great fusion of Japanese sushi and California style sushi. Did I mention the rolls are HUGE?! Like, 12 inches long in most cases for a single roll. You will not leave this place hungry if you enjoy sushi. This is my favorite sushi joint in all of downtown Seattle and I've been going here for nearly 10 years. GooglePlace - November 2017

We had so much fun. We order 3 different plates from Happy hour menu. Cake was great. We will come back again next year. GooglePlace - November 2017

Great prices for good food. The happy hour and lunch prices are very reasonable. I haven't been here for dinner. I had fun cocktails here at happy hour for only $6 each. Gets packed at lunch - reservations are a good idea. GooglePlace - October 2017
