Travis Johnston really makes this place smell funny on his wedding day. GooglePlace - April 2017

Great food, good service, and good atmosphere. But that's all, nothing really stands out as exceptional. I had a Canard which is a duck sandwhich. The duck was a tad dry. GooglePlace - February 2017

Went here with my girlfriend for the 6 course Valentine's special dinner. It was an amazing experience. The food was perfect, everything from the wines to the oysters to the view of the Seattle wheel and the aquarium was unbelievable. Would highly recommend for special occasions. It is, and always will be a lovely, intimate little restaurant tucked behind Market Spice and the butcher in Pike Place. Out of the way, yet easy to find, and I will always love this place. Went for lunch with my teen-aged daughter on a Friday afternoon. Her Salmon sandwich was wonderful and the potato leek soup velvety and subtle. My Croque Madame was dry and the egg on top overdone, but the fried were perfect. Really a 3.5 star, but the beautiful day, the attentive waitstaff and the ambiance made me round up versus down. Ram Rod is misstating what actually happened. First of all - I am not his girlfriend - it was a first (and last) date, second the bartender did not say anything about agreement or disagreement with the conversation. He simply leaned toward us and stated quietly "please don't have this conversation in my bar, not tonight" and walked away. Ram Rod was totally out of line and inappropriate in his response to that simple request and interpreted it as a personal attack. The way he lost control of his ability to have a respectful conversation after a simple request was made spoke volumes about his character and self control. Differing views are one thing, the inability to manage your emotions and have constructive conversation is a totally separate matter. Maximilien's is a beautiful, intimate space and I totally understood why we would be asked to discontinue a political conversation in such a small, quiet dining room during this very politically divisive time. The way the staff handled Ram Rod's reaction and subsequent diatribe made me love this restaurant even more. He was very politely asked to leave when his behavior intruded on the experience of other diners. Thank you Maximilien's for continuing to be the classy, elegant dining experience that I love.
