Tips from the Net @ Yard House

What a pleasant discovery. There’s a lot more retail shows than there are restaurants in this area of downtown Seattle. And if you’re looking for American fare, the options are fewer still. The Yard House is surprisingly difficult to locate. There’s a sign that’s easy to miss hanging outside the AT&T Store on the corner of Pike St. and 4th Ave. And even if you see the sign, it’s not easy to locate the Yard House is a few doors down on 4th Ave. And when you get there, the entrance is small, the glass doors opaque. Heck, it’s hard to tell if the place is even open. And then when you open the door, it’s dark, and you have to walk up a ramp to where the greeter awaits you. Again, not very inviting. The ambiance is unusual. It’s a sports bar with dim lighting and the decor of a modern cuisine restaurant. The menu, too, skews modern, although it also includes a number of classic American dishes. Ultimately, it’s the menu that makes the restaurant a winner. Great food with unbelievable prices. Similar food ordered from two other restaurants in the area cost twice as much. The service was friendly and attentive, and fast, but not so fast that your food was undercooked. The Yard House will be my first stop in Seattle from now on. GooglePlace - December 2017

The service here was not great. We ordered on the happy hour menu 3 minutes before happy hour and hadn't even gotten our food yet and were told after the order had been put in that they can't give us the happy hour price and it can't be cancelled either. We only went in for the happy hour specials. The food was not that great for the price. There's a lot of space though and the setup feels good. It's in a good location downtown. I usually have a hard time finding more than one or two vegetarian meals at pubs. This place has a whole section of delicious options! With TVs visible from every seat, this is the perfect place to watch sports and eat amazing food. GooglePlace - November 2017
