RACIST! If you are anything other than white, or offering a large bribe to the bouncer, you will probably be denied entry. I've seen the reviews about racism before going, but I decided to give it a try. The previous reviews from people who believe they were not let in because they were not exactly white are legitimate claims. If I could give 0 stars I would. The bouncer let my white boyfriend enter, but he gave a lame excuse saying that he could not read my ID and therefore could not let me in. My ID is in perfect condition and therefore I believe the staff here are racially profiling who they let into Grand Escalier. I'm 29 years old so skepticism about my age is nonsense. I am slightly tanned and of Latin descent. I can't believe such racism exists in a country that allows so many immigrants to enter on a daily basis. It's ridiculous. If you stand for human rights and equality avoid this lousy racist establishment. If you dare to enter, good luck and don't let Grand Escalier rip away your dignity.
On another note I have been to Grand Escalier in the past. It seems as though a change in bouncers or management has lead to racial profiling of people wanting to dine at this place.

Expensive lunch, but splendid food. Took 30 minutes for the food to come out in a semi filled restaurant, which unacceptable. It looked like there was only one server and one hostess, which is also unacceptable during lunch rush. Chill vibe, very cozy yet upscale place.

A bit pricy but the place is very beautiful, and the food is good. Go there on sundays for the brunch buffet.
