I visited Grand Escalier with friends to have a couple of drinks when we were in Stockholm. The place clearly has too few rest rooms which led to a long line of people waiting. Worst of all was the very rude and hostile security pushing people around and talking to the guests like they were misbehaving children. Take my advice: go somewhere else! GooglePlace - January 2018

Atmosphere was alright. Food and service was terrible. I go every time I visit Sweden but this time it was a joke. The food arrived 1 hour late - for which I can’t start to describe my frustration. And when it arrived it was uneatable. Extremely over salted. And cold !!!! I can not describe my disappointment. We only got 10% off the bill and no real apology. At times we felt like we were deliberately given bad service because we took our time choosing our food. Ridiculous. The floor staff couldn’t either guide us on wine. Everything seems more or less like a piss take of their guests. Never again. I can’t believe I used to take my friends and family to this place before. GooglePlace - December 2017

RACIST! If you are anything other than white, or offering a large bribe to the bouncer, you will probably be denied entry. I've seen the reviews about racism before going, but I decided to give it a try. The previous reviews from people who believe they were not let in because they were not exactly white are legitimate claims. If I could give 0 stars I would. The bouncer let my white boyfriend enter, but he gave a lame excuse saying that he could not read my ID and therefore could not let me in. My ID is in perfect condition and therefore I believe the staff here are racially profiling who they let into Grand Escalier. I'm 29 years old so skepticism about my age is nonsense. I am slightly tanned and of Latin descent. I can't believe such racism exists in a country that allows so many immigrants to enter on a daily basis. It's ridiculous. If you stand for human rights and equality avoid this lousy racist establishment. If you dare to enter, good luck and don't let Grand Escalier rip away your dignity. On another note I have been to Grand Escalier in the past. It seems as though a change in bouncers or management has lead to racial profiling of people wanting to dine at this place. Expensive lunch, but splendid food. Took 30 minutes for the food to come out in a semi filled restaurant, which unacceptable. It looked like there was only one server and one hostess, which is also unacceptable during lunch rush. Chill vibe, very cozy yet upscale place. GooglePlace - October 2017
