This is essential piece of Stockholm restaurant fauna attracts customers that have been going for years, as well as some tourists. The menu is centered on things from the sea, and the staple seasoning includes truffle, butter, and caviar. Traditional luxury with an ambiance and crowd that is on point with what is served.

Everything was good, but no the ratatouille, it was extremely salty, I couldn't eat it.

Prebook a seat if you plan to visit on weekends. The seating in the bar(we were redirected there as the rest of the seats were either occupied or prebooked) can improve in terms of comfort. Had ordered poached torsk which was palatable but nothing more. Is crowded and noisy, ambience etc. certainly doesn't imply a fine-dine. In my humble opinion, the food is over priced.
I had a bit annoying experience with the staff. We were two guys and we had not prebooked our seats, hence, redirected to the bar. I was fine with it but they asked us to sit on small, not-much-comfortable wooden seats which had a small, round serving table. We requested seats on the better tables there which were all empty and weren't booked but they said that since we are just two guys , we shouldn't occupy those bigger tables. I had no issues with that as well, I normally avoid occupying larger tables. Later, a couple, a lady occupied two separate tables and the same staff didn't say a word, that's what irritated me.

What does everyone love about Sturehof aside from the convenient hours? A friend visited from the US and wanted to have a boozy lunch; since Sweden is limited in such options, we chose Sturehof. They refused to make their vegetarian dish vegan for me, and I can’t have dairy, so I ate fish. The shellfish plateau requires a lot of effort - in every restaurant where I’ve seen this, the meat is mostly pre-extracted from the shell. It was also not the best quality seafood, and there was rather minimal meat - especially considering the price.
Our server abandoned us at one point and left us to flag down other servers for help. We ordered multiple courses - not because the portions were too small but because the others had left us so unsatisfied that we didn’t even want to finish them. One of the most disappointing restaurants I’ve been to in Stockholm.

Had our lunch here at midsummer. One time is no time, two times is a tradition. Thank you for always being open and keeping such high standard in the food. This was amazing and we got the level of midsummer feeling that we needed. Both the fish and cabbage were a masterpiece. Happy to have eaten this instead of herring.
