The first time I tried Khachapuri was a few years back in a restaurant by the same name in Moscow. The discovery of this cheese filled bread and stories I was told of Georgian wine, eventually made me book a trip to Georgia. I was not let down. Every food and wine lover will feel at home and want to return. So when I heard there is a restaurant serving Georgian food 2 stations by the tube from where I live, this was exciting news. Tbilisi’s Hörna turned out to be a very eclectic little restaurant not only serving Georgian cuisine but also displaying Greek dishes on the menu as well as Italian pizza! A bit of everything but it’s for the Georgian food I come back (or phone for delivery when lazy). Enjoy the meat or mushroom filled Khinkali, Georgian dumplings. And if you are a carnivore, you don’t want to miss out on the Lulla kebab. Vegetarians should make a point of visiting this place too, Georgian cuisine encompasses a plethora of choice from the vegetable kingdom. Try the walnut and garlic filled eggplant rolls and the mixed salad choice. And did I mention the Khatchapuri bread? Order too much and just ask for a doggie bag to bring home. The place has a friendly and laid back vibe with locals dropping by to collect take away pizza. Great value for money.
