Went for dinner with my bf, disappointed and won't try again.
High level summary, overly sweet soya sauce for sashimi, sushi, beef sukiyaki's soya sauce soup was a sugar soy sauce soup, and yakiudon with overly sweet soya sauce. I understand this is a (Korean)Japanese izakaya so you expect customers to drink, but I would expect soya sauce to be more salty than sweet. So basically, don't bother with this place if you are looking for a nice Japanese dinner, maybe the miniature skewers(note, mini) are OK for drinks.
Sashimi or nigiri wise, I tried with their soy sauce at first (they do not provide normal soya sauce) and basically I only tasted the sugar sauce. So I tried it without soysauce and it had the fishy smell to it. I also had the red prawn nigiri which is raw prawn and that wasn't very fresh either. I was pretty disappointed in the raw items as I expected a lot better given the price. I would recommend tsukiji in Richmond instead or matoi in coquitlam . They have way better sashimi.
The stone grilled beef was a tapa and it came at dessert time. It's just.... Sigh. Priorities. Anyways, it was okay but basically had it for the stone gimmick. I was pretty overwhelmed with all the sugar by the time I had it and my tongue was pretty tired from the sugar explosions so I could barely taste the beef. Wish I had Korean BBQ instead, at least they give a bunch of side dishes too.
Will not try this place again, i can get better sashimi and yakitori, yakiudon, sukiyaki's at the other places I mentioned above. Don't waste your money here for just a meal, probably gotta get a few drinks to enjoy this place.
Gahhh that yakiudon would've been so much better if it wasn't so sweet!!!! The noodle itself was actually nice and chewy which I like!

Mixed feelings. First, the good. The food presentation was great, and the decor was cozy and welcoming.Unfortunately the taste was nothing to write home about, and at their ridiculous price points (5pc sushi combo for 18.25?!) it is simply not worth it. Spent 30 dollars and left hungry and unsatisfied.
